We arrived at the Villa Athena at night time and what a welcoming sight it was! It was tastefully lit up, including the house, the beautiful pool, the garden and the outside bar/dining area. The villa was lovely and spacious, offering two large bedrooms upstairs, one with a large balcony and one with a smaller balcony and both with spacious en suites. There were three double bedrooms downstairs with windows overlooking the gardens, and there was a shared bathroom. All the beds were very comfortable with high quality linen and there were plentiful nice quality towels per room. Every bedroom had air conditioning. The living area included a spacious, well furnished open plan lounge, dining area and a well fitted kitchen with plentiful plates, glasses, pots and pans, etc. Patio doors opened up to a sizeable terrace with a large dining table and chairs, pleasantly furnished with pot plants and ornaments. The pool was a good size with nice quality sun loungers, tables and parasols surrounding it. The large garden bar/dining area was delightful, shaded by a nice bamboo style roof for shade.There were plentiful fitted fridges behind the bar to keep the food and wine chilled. A barbecue was alongside. The villa is situated in a quiet area among olive groves between the mountains and the sea. It has spectacular views of the surrounding areas. The beautiful town of Sissi, with its harbour surrounded by colourful trees and shrubs together with a plentiful choice of restaurants and cafes, is only a short walk away. We couldn’t fault this beautiful villa. The only thing we would have appreciated is an extractor fan in the shared bathroom. The Villa Athena gave us a perfect holiday and we will be back!
